The ten commandments for the longevity of your hot tub

In order for your hot tub to serve you for many years, you need to take good care of it.

The following ten points stand above each manual and bring universal advice, valid for any model. By observing them, you will ensure your hot tub swells with long-term functionality and many pleasant moments.

01

When choosing a hot tub, take into account the ease of operation and possible service interventions. If you don’t get to all the potentially faulty components, the very first fault could also be the last! Read the user manual and all accessory documentation carefully. Keep them carefully together with the contacts of your dealer and service technician.

02

Choose the location of the hot tub carefully. If you plan to have it outdoors, consider whether it should be placed under trees or plants. They can pollute the water with leaves or pollen.

03

Wash your entire body with regular soap and shampoo your hair before using the hot tub or pool. Avoid using creamy soaps and shower gels, which can remain on the skin after washing. Shower without a swimsuit if possible.

04

Clean the filters of the hot tub or pool regularly according to the manufacturer’s instructions. The main filters are usually cleaned once a month, depending on the intensity of use of the hot tub. Replace them according to the service life indicated in the manual or in the technical specification of the filter.

05

Change the water at least four times a year.
Also, whenever you notice debris. The water may be cloudy, foaming or leave a film on the shell of the hot tub. Check the PH level and other chemical values of the water regularly with special meters. If the values are outside the limits, adjust the chemical composition of the water by appropriate means.

06

Wash your entire body with regular soap and shampoo your hair before using the hot tub or pool. Avoid using creamy soaps and shower gels, which can remain on the skin after washing. Shower without a swimsuit if possible.

07

Never carry out complex servicing operations yourself. Always leave the hot tub in the hands of an authorised technician!

08

Winterize the hot tub in the winter months.
Poorly performed winterisation (e.g. imperfectly drained water) can seriously damage the hot tub. Again, consider visiting a service technician.

09

The cladding of the hot tub also requires care. Although weather-resistant, wood can change colour irregularly with age and may develop small cracks or defects. Treat it with protective coatings. Your dealer or service centre can help you choose the right one.

10

If you use your hot tub all year round, we recommend a preventive service once every twelve months. The service technician will check the motors, pumps, nozzle functionality, hose leaks and other important functions.
